In Advanced Manufacturing careers, you get to drive innovation by creating new products and using technology to improve manufacturing processes. This pre-engineering trade and technical program teaches manufacturing materials and processes, automated systems, manufacturing technologies, mechanical systems, electronics, welding, and sometimes robotics and automation. 9.4% of Missouri’s total employment is in manufacturing and the industry is growing!
Skills you'll learn
Industrial safety
Learn to maintain a safe, efficient work environment through following proper guidelines and continuous safety training.
Machining
Operating key tools such as lathes, grinders, drilling machines, measuring instruments, and hand tools to implement metal projects.
Computer-aided manufacturing & automation
Experience with 2D and 3D CAD technology, 3D printing, engraving/cutting, as well as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated robotic systems.
Educational outcomes
- Earn high school certification
- Can continue education for Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
