The Construction pathways allow you to gain hands-on experience with residential and commercial construction techniques including working with framing, roofing, siding, wiring, insulation, interior finishes, plumbing, painting, and masonry. The construction industry offers stable careers with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced industry that is constantly innovating with new technologies.
Skills you'll learn
Operate common tools and equipment
Learn to operate skid steers, power tools, rotaries, woodworking machinery, airless spray rigs, and more.
Blueprint reading
Properly interpret blueprints to make sure foundations, walls, plumbing, and electrical all go according to plan.
All phases of construction
Understand each stage in a construction project, the steps involved, and each is invaluable to the others.
Educational outcomes
- Students can earn an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 Certification
- Students can also earn National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Fundamentals I Certification
- Post-secondary education can continue for careers in construction management, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or masonry
