Diesel Technology Pathway
Do you like working with engines and like to go big?
This is the ideal pathway for students interested in working with advanced diesel technology. You’ll spend time in the classroom and in the shop, learning to work with medium/heavy-duty equipment, and diesel-powered automobiles using the approved National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) curriculum.
Skills you'll learn
Engine performance
Learn how to maximize performance for diesel vehicles and medium/heavy-duty equipment
Preventative maintenance
Learn the best ways to keep diesel vehicles and equipment from breaking down.
Brakes & steering
Gain the ability to repair and replace brake and steering systems on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.
Electrical systems
Learn the electrical systems of diesel vehicles as well as front loaders, bulldozers, and other equipment.
Educational outcomes
- Students will earn four ASE certifications: Engine Performance, Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electrical Systems, Preventative Maintenance
- Students can move on to a 2- or 4-year degree in Diesel Technology
